Kyla's Reflection.

"We got to understand their struggles"

“I must admit, my only intention was to teach kids English on this trip. I’ve learned so much within the nine weeks we spent here. We also helped the less fortunate families in areas who would not expect visitors. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on their faces, and they told stories about their lives. We got to understand their struggles, which opened my eyes to a whole different perspective. The kids that we taught are full of love and curiosity. For me, being able to expand their knowledge to extents that they wouldn’t normally have access to learn from the traditional Vietnamese education system was truly a life-changing experience. Although it may have been a small community that I’ve given back to, I feel that I’ve somehow given back to the world. I’m beyond thankful for the amazing opportunity that has allowed me to give back to the world and impact the lives of Vietnamese kids.”
